3DPI Preferences Docs | Window Overview || Next

The Preferences Button in the top left corner of the 3DPI window leads to the 3DPI Preferences.

Here you can change 3 details to adapt the 3DPI to your needs:

Pause when deactive

top

If the checkbox for this property is not selected (default value), the 3DPI will always scan and display all informations permanently.

If the checkbox for this property is selected, the 3DPI will scan and display all informations only as long as the 3DPI window is active. As soon as activating any other window the 3DPI will be paused, which might be useful for performance reasons.

Regardless how the property is set, the 3DPI will always be paused in the following situations:

  • while Director itself is deactive
  • on PC as long as the 3DPI window is minimized by the 'Collapse Button' in the right upper corner. (Sadly on Mac the 3DPI will not be paused while the window is minimized by the windows Collapse Box.)

Model hilite color

top

The 3DPI offers the possibility to hilite a model temporary for better identification.

The default color for the model hilite is yellow, but in the 3DPI preferences you can change the color to any value you like.

Hiliting a model can be done either in the parent-child Hierachy in the Member-Tab, or in the Model-Tab with the "Hilite Model" Button, that is placed beside the list of models.

Hierachy limit

top

The number of displayed nodes within the parent-child Hierachy in the Member-Tab is limited, because a high number might slow down the performance. However, you can change this number in the Preferences depending on your needs (and depending on the performance of your computer).
